The Nab

We had done some walking from Hartsop before, but never quite made it to The Nab, so the only thing for it was for a there and back walk with this as the sole target.

Difficulty: 4.0
Walkers: Tim, Caroline, Grace (17), Evie (13), Poppy (11), Piper
11:41, 0.0km 0h00 0m, Start (178)
13:18, 3.4km 1h36 527m, Rest Dodd (696, Wainwright, Hewitt)
14:34, 5.4km 2h53 590m, The Nab (576, Wainwright)
16:25, 10.4km 4h43 777m, End (177)

Parked in the same carpark as before, at the top of the village.

Enjoyable walk up, and it was looking much nicer than the day before.

Crossing the bridge at the bottom of Hayeswater

Top of Rest Dodd, looking south over Hayeswater.

Rest Dodd, this time looking towards Ullswater

Very nice lunch stop just off the top.

At The Nab.  Shortly after this we thought this was isolated enough to let Piper off lead, we'd not seen any one or any animals all the way from Rest Dodd in the distance.  Fairly straight away she galloped off down the ridge to the left, completing out of sight.  I brought out her whistle and called her back.  After around 30seconds she returns, running full pelt back up the hillside, having found a group of deer that she was herding in front of her.  Thankfully her recall at that point was good and she came running back to me, obviously awesomely pleased with her work.  We didn't let her off lead again.

Sun came out, giving this view looking back at The Nab
